To the Pavilion

Here is the pavilion painting fresh from easel and time machine! I added a woman and child approaching and their dress is what would have been worn at the time the pavilion was built 100 years ago.

  2. This is beautiful. The young girl seems so excited to arrive at a place, where she can daydream and play.

We have two pavillions like this in the next town over. Your painting is prompting me to stop the car, and go inside to see the world from the "inside."
    Thank you so much!

  3. Liz~ This is beautiful and peaceful. I wouldn't mind sitting upon this pavilion-perhaps a tall iced tea in hand...or maybe a paint brush.

  5. Thanks for your comments - they make me feel good and peaceful! When I post these paintings sometimes it also helps me see what needs work. I can see that the umbrella/parasol needs to be cocked at an angle - and the shadow of the woman's head show through - and the figures in a complimentaries so I'm thinking the dresses a nice pale shade of lavendar-grey and the brella a shade of pinky orange with a highlight at the left rim. Talking to myself.

  7. Just found your blog! Sweet photo! Wouldn't it be nice to have such a pavillion in the backyard. Love your photo of the 4th of July.
